COVID & Mentoring

As we continue to face new challenges due to COVID-19 and the global pandemic, Mentoring has had to continue to adapt and develop new procedures for teaching classes on programs like Zoom or in-person but following mask requirements and social distancing rules. Effective Class Sizes

Smaller class sizes makes for a more manageable and effective learning environment than a larger class held via Zoom and will allow for better social distancing as we attempt in person class again this Fall.

Better Followup

A smaller school allows for better follow up with parents and students. Teachers are able to communicate more easily with students and parents without being bogged down by too many students. It also allows better communication between the school and your family to best establish how your students can learn safely and effectively.

Community Matters

You may be finding that your child is missing the social contact of peers due to distance learning, but Mentoring Academy highly values our sense of community. From our Parents Group MAPs to the student interaction, we all know each other, we all remain connected, and we are all involved with one another's lives. Our community helps with feelings of alienation or boredom at home.

Easier to Manuever

Larger schools need time to change course. With a smaller school like Mentoring Academy, we are better able to adapt to the weekly changes of life under COVID-19. This goes from training the staff and students to new learning techniques to changing the schedule when necessary. If things continue to improve we will be able to push forward with more in-person classes and events, but we are also prepared to return to online learning the moment it becomes necessary for your student's safety.
